Ex- Senegalese forward Oumar Niasse, who netted 12 goals in 65 Premier League games for the Toffees and even now attends their matches at Goodison Park, also had his first appearance against Collegiate OB - who are located in the city and use an Blue training kit as their uniform.

"My friend Stephen said 'come and have a game, it's good fun'," said the striker.

"Then he informed me we were playing a team from the city and the shock I had when I saw them wearing Blue shirts - I thought this is wrong for me!

"If you still love the game and you feel you can still play, anywhere you can kick a ball, what are you going to do?

"Those people who come and watch are happy and to make someone's day if they see us competing there and to ask us queries - it's really about the pleasure of us getting a place we can enjoy football, with structure of course."

So great is the bench strength at Wythenshawe, he made his debut at defender.

"That's a bit unusual but then, I enjoy sprinting and just go forward - I'm not defending that much," he said.

"I tell my defender 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to keep running.

"The movement is what I'm seeking. It's enjoyable."

Dreamlike' Experience

Along with Cisse's six scores on debut, Stephen Ireland has scored eight in three games for the side, while George Boyd hit five on his first appearance and Lescott, a centre-half by trade, scored a triple in one game as a striker.

Paul Barrow, thirty-eight, who plays on the flank for the opposition, came up against ex- Wigan full-back Figueroa on the weekend - and had to tell his young boy who Emile Heskey was.

"Our group literally haven't ceased chatting about it - I was phoning my mother and sibling on the journey home.
